Excellent Affordable Product
The 9 G2 has been great worked with for a week now and couldn't be happier! The IPS 9.7 inch screen is the same as on the ipad 2, great viewing angles and the 4:3 ratio is much better for reading books, web surfing, and gaming. Movies look great there will be black bars because of the ratio but the viewing angle and option to play any format is fantastic. I have tried avi, mp4, and mkv all play without hesitation. This is better than my ipad 2 because of the fact it can accept a usb flash drive and a 32gb micro sd card!!! No more worrying about filling up the hard drive with my movies and high res photos... My 9 G2 did not ship with any bloatware and it came without any app store. I have side loaded facebook, the old skype that works with this and coby tablets, all apk files found through Google within seconds. Just put them on a flash drive and install to tablet. It comes with a file manager that works great! Amazon app store installed and was up and running in a few minutes, the free app a day is great! You don't need an app store if you know what apps you want you can find the apk's but I like to browse the options on amazon app store to see if there is something new I don't know about.
Research done into the sub $200 tablet market finds that most have resistive screens at this size or smaller 5 point capacitive 7 inch screens. I like the larger 9.7 to 10 inch screens as I have a 5 inch samsung smart phone already and seven did not seem much larger... That being said there are some great 7 inch tablets out there for $150 or less as many colleagues around me have purchased and I got to play with. If you are looking for that size the xtex my tablet 7 sold on Amazon for $150 + shipping is great, android 4.0, 1.5 ghz, 1 gb ram!!! I got my 9 G2 for $150 from Amazon keep your eyes open for sellers that have this discounted and new in box!
There has been some reviews online with this tablet that say it doesn't turn on after running the battery completely out... I turn it off and plug it in for a full charge when it says to ~15% left, and have had no problems yet in 7 charges. I am getting about 4.5 to 5 hours on a charge to that point depending what I am doing on the 9 G2.
